Classes

Classes take place on Thursday evenings, offering dog training at all levels.  New members will usually join either a five week Puppy Socialisation Course or the six week Beginners course.   Classes run for half-an-hour.  Please see our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for further information.

6.30pm Puppy
Five week course for puppies up to six months old.  The emphasis is on socialisation and play, plus laying the foundations of basic obedience.  This is run on a rollling basis so new members can join at any time, provided we have room.  Due to very high demand we are currently running two puppy classes at the same time.

7.15pm Advanced Puppies
Six week course for puppies who have completed five Puppy classes.  Building upon what owners and dogs have learnt already with more socialisation, play and obedience.  Participants will attain the Puppy Foundation level of the Kennel Club Good Citizens Dog Scheme.

7.15pm Beginners
For new members with dogs over six months old.  Similar to the puppy course, but tailored for older dogs who may have missed out on socialisation and/or training in their early days.  Dogs under 12 months will be able to work towards the Puppy Foundation level of the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme.

8pm Advanced Beginners (Bronze)
For graduates from beginners and advanced puppies to build upon what they have learned already and to develop to Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze level.

8pm Intermediate (Silver)
For dogs and handlers who have already attained Bronze Good Citizen award.  Moving beyond basic pet obedience and working towards the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Silver level.

8.45pm Advanced (Gold)
For dogs and handlers who have already attained Bronze and Silver level Good Citizen awards.  Developing more advance skills for dog and handler and working towards the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Gold level.  The sociable class for long-term members who like to get together with like-minded doggy friends!

8.45pm Platinum
Aimed at pet handlers and dogs who have attained all levels of the KC Good Citizen awards.  This class bridges the gap between pet obedience and competitive obedience.  Includes exercises such as a formal retrieve, recall over a small jump and distance control.

Competitive obedience at Woodbury
If your hobby is participating in Kennel Club competitive obedience, get together with like-minded people to train your dog(s).  Enthusiasts meet on Wednesday or Friday evenings from 7.45pm to 10pm at Woodbury Village Hall. See our Woodbury page for more details and the calendar for dates.

Pet obedience at Woodbury
We also offer a general mixed pet obedience class at Woodbury Village Hall on Wednesday or Friday evenings from 6.45pm to 7.45pm.  This is aimed primarily at people living in Woodbury or the surrounding area.  See our Woodbury page for more details and the calendar for dates.
